The secondary structure of a protein is?

Sorry to two of the other posters but R- groups are NOT involved in secondary structure. R- groups (the amino acid side chains) are involved in tertiary folding. Secondary structure is due to hydrogen bonds between the C=O and the NH of the peptide bond groups and is the first level of folding and may give rise to beta sheets or alpha helix within the protein. Answer = b).
