Best guitar for this type of music....?

Ok. So i really like to play rock type music, sorta punk rock, alternative rock, metal such as three days grace. What would be the best guitar for that type of music? I just wanna increase my knowledge on guitars. Cuz im not buying a new guitar anytime soon i just wanna know my options. i have a really crappy guitar, and i wanna see the difference once i get good at playing of a bad guitar and really good one. Which guitar would be best, Les Paul, Strat, or Ibanez?
