Isn't is at least remotely possible that the authors of the New Testament ripped off the old Testament?

I am sure the new testment authors were well aware of the old testament prophecies of the messiah and could have easily imprinted these characteristics unto Jesus which would explain why the majority of Jewish still don't believe that Jesus was anything more than man.
