Gall Bladder Surgery?

I went to the doctor with a pain in my upper right side and around my back. The doctor thinks it may be my gall bladder. They done blood work and sent me for an ultrasound. If they decide that I need to have the suurgery what can I expect? Will they have to put a breathing tube in? What is the expected recovery time?
